Don’t let HR be the Elephant in the Room! ~
In 2018, we continue to Commit to strategically growing Small-Midsize Enterprises (SMEs) across the U.S. We focus on Recruiting for the month of January 2018. It is important that Recruiting strategies are inclusive of Employee Engagement.
Employees: Business Owners Must Remember the Importance of employees. When recruiting, the job description must be clear in defining exactly what type of candidate the Company is seeking. Employees are the bread and butter of any organization. We must remember that investing in the growth, development, and well-being of employees is essential to the growth of the Company. That includes Employee Engagement at the forefront! For those SMEs that still have not grasped the importance of employee engagement -- GET ON BOARD! Engaging employees means making sure employees have the tools needed to flourish in their position and the Company. Employees need more than a job to achieve any kind of fulfillment in a Company. A “job” only produces a check. Employees are looking to work with organizations where they have a voice and meaning and know they will make a difference. Dave Ulrich, Professor at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan and partner the RBL Group says “Good leaders are meaning makers who help each employee find his or her personal meaning through their work activities.” Top 30 Employee Engagement Ideas from the Experts.
Human Resource Management: Business Owners Must Remember the Importance of Human Resource Management. Effective human resource management is needed to make employees Happy! There is no way around it. Let’s Face It! As a business owner, you simply must have Happy employees to have Happy clients/customers. Engaged Employees make Happy Clients/Customers. Human resource management is no longer filling personnel files with paperwork. Growing an organization consists of syncing human resource management strategies with all aspects of the business to provide the best results in terms of the company, employees, and clients. Human Resource Management addresses the issues related to compensation, performance management, organizational development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, training, and others. It plays a critical, strategic role in managing people and the workplace culture and environment.
Company Culture: Business Owners Must Remember the Importance of Company Culture. Company culture is much like the personality of the Company. It is made up of values, assumptions, beliefs, and behaviors which orchestrate how people behave in the organization. It is safe to say that employee engagement is an impactful means of achieving a positive company culture. The HuffPost identified two of seven positive characteristics of successful company cultures as a purposeful company culture and engagement and loyalty in its article, The Seven Characteristics Of Successful Company Cultures. So again, the emphasis is put on employee engagement among other important components of a successful company. Employee engagement and culture were ranked 3rd and 4th, respectively, in the top 10 trends among 7,000 business and HR leaders from 130 countries in Deloitte’s 2016 Human Capital Trend Report: The new organization.
All-4-HR & Business Solutions is a virtual human resource management/consulting company specializing in building virtual companies and brick-and-mortar companies across the Country. Virtual companies have challenged the traditional brick-and-mortar establishments since the mid-2000s. While the two types of companies differ in some respects, in others, they are very similar. Brick-and-mortar companies face the challenge of high overhead costs for building, furniture, and location. Virtual companies face the challenge of accountability and the absence of face-to-face communication among virtual teams.
Some similar challenges in both types of companies include engaging employees, managing employee relations, and labor/employment laws, etc. Labor/employment laws and employee relations are, in fact, more complex in virtual companies as virtual teams, in most instances reside cross various cultures and locations in many instances across various states and/or continents.
As always, All-4-HR & Business Solutions is working to take care of your HR, while you focus on growing your Business!
This month All-4-HR & Business Solutions is focusing on Recruiting!!
